Easter Basket Miniatures - So tiny!!!
All photos and miniatures are by Stephanie Kilgast.
She is the owner of PetitPlat Food Art (Paris, France)
http://www.petitplat.fr/
Stephanie Kilgast has a unique hobby where she makes things out of clay.
What, not different enough for you?
Ok, she makes tiny things out of clay.
Actually, she makes REALLY tiny things out of clay.
She uses the dollhouse ratio of 1:12.
And while she usually makes mini food products (such as bread or cupcakes) she decided to give Easter the appreciation it deserves.

Now remember...
...everything you see is made from polymer clay.
So that's not real chocolate.
And no, you can't have a bite just to make sure.

Now, when you look at this basket.
Do you see it as being half-full of jelly beans?
Or do you see it as being full of painted eggs?
Pretty deep stuff here at HolidayTrees.

On reexamining the clay or chocolate dilemma.
I've decided...
I've decided...
...that it is probably just a mixture of chocolate and candy.
I don't see why we can't eat an egg or two?

A special thanks to Stephanie Kilgast for sharing her art and passion.

Happy Palm Sunday!
For all you heathens out there, Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter Sunday.
That means, you're already late for church!
If you can't make it to a real alter, hopefully the photo above will fill your spiritual needs.
Oh and don't forget to make your palm cross.
Oh and don't forget to make your palm cross.
The photographer says, "This is my first attempt at forming a cross out of palm leaves".
A fine first attempt indeed!
I remember making a bunch of these when I was in Catholic school. One would think that the more you made the easier it would be to form the crosses. Oddly, it was the exact opposite for me. I always thought my first one was the best and every one after that one was progressively worse.
And thus was my first run-in with my OCD condition.
May your day be filled with Palm Sunday Blessings!

New!! Easter Archive
Because I sarted www.Holidaytrees.us on a blog I have to use the blog tools given to me. This means that the sidebar used months and dates for my articles on Holidays. This is all fine and good but I find that when looking at holiday articles from previous years it was a little confusing.
So I thought that I would create an archive for every holiday thus far. That is what you see underneath the heading on the front page.
I have most of my holiday articles archived. There are a few that I haven't made a page for yet (like Mardi Gras or Saint Patrick). But you can still find these holidays by using the month sidebar or by using the search engine on the very top of the website.
Anyways, I have recently archived the 2010 Easter. So take a look at the link at the top of the page! You'll find some beautiful photos and some excellent genius-like commentary to go along with them.
P.S. Personally my favorite link is: Peeps! A Rhyming Story

It's time for some Easter Celebration!
I know, I know. I haven't been the most active HolidayTree lover lately :-( It's just that February to April is a pretty active time for Holidays. There's Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, and Mardi Gras just to name a few. Now it's Easter time and I am little bummed about starting the celebration so late.
But enough with the moping and let us get on with the celebrating!
A vibrant Eastery photo is long overdue. So let us begin with that.
